Ever wonder why the Blue Mountains are regarded as World Heritage? Now is your chance to find out while having some fun too.
Scenic World and the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute are celebrating the anniversary of the Blue Mountains being globally recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site by hosting two guided tours on 3 December 2022 at Scenic World.
As part of the tour, visitors will hear from Dr John Merson, co-founder of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute and environmental conservationist, about what makes the mountains ecologically significant before departing into the Jamison Valley on the world’s steepest train. Visitors will tour the rainforest with a National Parks Ranger and learn about the ever-evolving plants and animals unique to the World Heritage area, and then glide up the ancient escarpment on the Cableway—keep your eyes peeled for the flowering Cliff Eyebrights, which are only found on this escarpment and nowhere else on Earth.
An added bonus! $20 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute.
Only available December 3 to celebrate the Anniversary of the Inscription of the Blue Mountains on the World Heritage List that took place on the 29th November 2000.
