We offer supervised academic internships as well as general work experience internships.
INTERN PROFILE: HOLLY NETTLE
Holly Nettle undertook a research internship with the Institute as Project Officer - Upland Swamps from 2021 - 2023. During this time Holly was also an Environmental Science cadet with the Blue Mountains City Council.
With a statement of attainment in bush regeneration and Bachelor of Environmental Studies from Western Sydney University (2023), Holly is now employed as an Environment Assessment Officer with the Federal Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
At the Institute, Holly put her skills and expertise in water quality monitoring and measurement to work on our Upland Swamps monitoring and decision support system project, helping us out with data collection, university team liaison, data analysis and reporting.

Gain valuable experience as an intern and help us in ways that align with your life goals.
We are currently seeking work experience interns with interests in conservation research, marketing, communications, fundraising and events to commence in July 2024.
You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our Research Program Manager and Marketing and Communications Manager on a range of exciting projects across these programs.
The opportunity is hybrid, offering a balance between working from home and our Katoomba office located at the Planetary Health Precinct (former golf course).
